Liverpool will be looking to register their fifth win across all competitions in the 2024-25 campaign when they play host West Ham United in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.
The home side's only defeat of the season so far came at Anfield but the reign of new manager Arne Slot has been largely successful. Liverpool boast five from their six games so far and scored a total of 13 goals. The Reds go into Wednesday's clash on the back of two successive victories, a run that saw them score a total of six goals and conceded just one.
While Liverpool appear to be thriving following the departure of Jürgen Klopp, West Ham United are experiencing the opposite under new boss Julen Lopetegui, with the Hammers winning just two of their six games played so far across all competitions. The visitors also shipped a total of seven goals in their last three outings alone.
Liverpool vs West Ham United Betting Tips: Over 2.5 goals
Liverpool have done not very much wrong offensively so far this season and the same can be said about them defensively. The win over Bournemouth in the Premier League last time out saw the Reds kept their fourth clean sheet of the campaign and they will fancy themselves to keep another one on Wednesday.
However, Liverpool don’t have a very good defensive record against West Ham United. The Reds failed to keep a clean sheet in each of the last four meetings between the two sides - shipping a total of five goals. Bets on over 2.5 goals were won in all four encounters and I fancy a similar result at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
- Best Tip: Over 2.5 goals

Liverpool team news
Liverpool came out of the 3-0 win over Bournemouth last time out, but head coach Arne Slot is expected to make many changes to his starting eleven.
Having made his first Premier League appearance as a substitute last time out, new signing Federico Chiesa will be hoping to get a start here.
Should the 27-year-old get a start, he is likely to be supported in the final third by Diego Jota and Mohamed Salah.

West Ham United team news
West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui will again be without the services of new signing Niclas Füllkrug who recently suffered an Achilles tendon injury.
Given the result and scoreline against Chelsea in the Premier League last time out, changes are expected to be made to the side that started that game.
Michail Antonio and Tomá? Sou?ek are among those who could be promoted to the starting eleven on Wednesday for the ELF Cup clash with Liverpool at Anfield.
